Why Google Play now requires this

Since 2024, the Google Play Child Safety Standards policy has required any app with social, dating, or user-to-user messaging surfaces to publish a public page describing how it prevents and responds to Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE / AESI). The page must be reachable at a public URL filed inside Google Play Console. Apps that miss this step are blocked from publishing updates until the URL is supplied.

What the generated page contains

  • Definition of CSAE / AESI in line with NCMEC and INTERPOL guidance
  • Prohibited content and behaviour list
  • In-app reporting flow description and turnaround time
  • Cooperation with NCMEC, INHOPE, and local law enforcement
  • Annual review cadence
  • Direct contact email for urgent reports

Frequently asked questions

Where in Play Console do I paste this URL?
Play Console → your app → Policy → App content → Child safety standards. Paste the hosted URL the generator gives you.
My app does not have social features. Do I still need this?
Only apps with user-to-user communication surfaces are required to fill the form. If yours does not, you can skip this URL — but publishing a page anyway is harmless and looks professional to reviewers.
